  • Hi I have an adhesive heat mat, but I don't want to stick it into the plastic as I won't be able to remove it in case I switch to a larger enclosure. How can I put it under the tank without sticking it in? It appears the one in your video is stuck into something else. - ra2or911
  • I named my BRB Karl. I treat my snakes in anthropomorphic fashion and they all have human names. It adds to their overall character. Great snake by the way. - freepieanchips
  • Looks like a good simple setup,do you plan to use a terrarium when the snake reaches full size. What price did you pay for the boa and how long have you owned it? Thanks - MrSnorbitz1
  • Awesome video, love that setup and snake is gorgeous - Chelsea Williams
  • Hey! I just got my BRB and for some reason the heating is not as high as it should. I have 2 heat mats under my tub and they are really big ones too... but the heat is still at a constant 75*F. My BRB is a male and is a year old (if that makes a difference). But the humidity is high enough... Do you have any tips? - FluffyHorse33
  • Soldering iron - Lukaspvinter
  • No, I don't see how she would tbh unless somebody leaves the lid open or if you made the holes too big, which doesn't happen with mine - Lukaspvinter
  • Could you use the 64l box from the beginning if its a juvenile snake? And what is the power of the heat mat? - Sarah Bolas
  • How big is that cage? I know its been a few months since you made this video so if your snake has "graduated" to a new cage what size is it? What kind? and how much? - FluffyHorse33

  • Happy to be of service, any questions you have at any point either comment on a video or send me a message and I'll advise you to the best of my knowledge. I'm glad you're not put off by the nay sayers who say it's not a beginners snake, I would say a Royal/Ball Python is more difficult to care for. But anyway cheers. - Lukaspvinter
  • striker because she striking an appearance - mason pickens
  • The cage on this video is only 24L, the one she's in now is like 64L if memory serves. It is a RUB (really useful box), bought from staples, it was on offer for 2 for £20 I think. It's worth it because of the sheer size of the box it will last her a while ^.^ - Lukaspvinter
  • Cheap - Brandon Taylor
  • You could use a fogger for humidity, but it isn't necessary, with the correct substrate (occasionally misted), large water bowl and well placed ventilation, combined with good heating, the ideal humidity is there. Foggers do make the cage look nice though and I might consider one when this snake gets older, to give that whole rainforest feel to the cage. - Lukaspvinter
  • What did you use to make the holes?? - Maric Vorse
  • how old is the snake - TenuousGooch
  • (couldn't fit all this in one comment) also BRBs are nocturnal so need no heat lamp, the heat mat creates enough heat, and I'd definately recommend getting a thermostat for it, otherwise you will have to continuously turn the heat mat on and off yourself - Lukaspvinter
  • Cheers - Lukaspvinter
  • I didn't do a specific number, I have alot on two sides in a circle shape, then about 14 on the front and back, then 4 on top, all to allow for air circulation, but also to prevent humidity escape, its more about where the holes are rather than how many, put most in the sides because humidity escapes more through the lid if there are holes in it - Lukaspvinter
  • If you're referring to the overall price of the cage etc. that's the point, its a budget enclosure that works just as well as the expensive cages, if not better. A large amount of reptile keepers use cages of this fashion because they are cheap and effective. - Lukaspvinter
  • wassup man i plan on getn a brb asap money is not the issue i just want to make sure i do everything right becuz i dont want to mis treat the snake in any way, this will b my first snake i no this video is very in depth but what is the name of those containers if u can can u send me a link for 1 - Richard Jackson

  • How many holes did u make for breathing? - Daryl Jones
  • Thank you for the of the idea of using the box for the home. - 0hopscotch0
  • Ever have issues with mold or mildew growth with all that moisture? - Suoh Fira
  • as I've said it's not as hard as people make it out to be, if you're willing to look after the snake then you can handle looking after it, I think the sort of people who think it is an intermediate snake are those people who aren't committed enough to put the effort into looking after it, if you get what I mean? - Lukaspvinter
  • The cage has a clip lock on it, I bought it from charlies in wales however, I recently bought a new one that I'm making into a cage from staples I knew the UTH wouldn't do anything to it because I experimented with it before buying the snake, and my friend has a crested gecko who uses the same box and it was fine (a heat lamp would be too hot though) - Lukaspvinter
  • Great vid. I'm getting my first snake next month, and was pretty sold on a corn, even though rainbow boas are my favorite, everything I heard was they are hard to take care of, but this vid doesn't make it look so hard so now i'm thinking about the rainbow boa lol. - baloney720
  • Rob Stark? - monkeyboy8me
  • im on a budget and wanted to know if that box is sealed from the top the same way your humidity hide is. where did you find the box and how did u know the under-tanks heater wouldn't do anything to the plastic... i don't need a heat lamp? do i need a control source for the heat of the underpad? mines coming home in 2 weeks, owned a corn for 3 years - ManvirBhandal
  • Can u use a fogger - Brandon Taylor
  • thanks bud, im going to set up the tank before he comes in and fiddle around with it, are your thermometers placed on the bedding then to gauge temperature? how often do you mist? - ManvirBhandal
  • amazing source of help, did way better for me than any care sheet or forum ive been to. thanks a bunch - ManvirBhandal
  • this was actually very helpful thank you, Im ordering a Rainbow boa and I also am on a budget. Food isn't an issue as we breed rats, but at the current a large enclosure is out of my league. This is going to be my first snake and Im very excited :) - Luke Hillyer
  • the sensor for the thermostat is ever so slightly buried under a thin layer of substrate, the thermometer is the same, and the thermometer/hygrometer is stuck to the wall of the cool side of the cage in order to prevent it getting water logged, also I mist whenever the humidity drops below 80% or if I think the ecoearth is looking dry - Lukaspvinter
  • I currently now use a mix of mostly eco earth and orchid bark, and sphagnum moss in the moist hide - Lukaspvinter
  • I suggest if its a girl name it jade - Nate Chevarie
  • Called my brb female Luana, a brazilian girls name. She is a darling, 4 ft now and never ever showed any signs of aggression, unlike her sonoran dwarf cousin who has a very over eager feeding response! - Kirk Raftery
