  • woo! go physics yeah. [; [what ya gonna do]? - James Gogh
  • ok I am sorry for the wrong terminology. I mean to say other commodities also have sugar used in their ingrediants for manufacture. The price of those other commodities will rise. For instance, not relating with sugar, lets say someone figured to utilize wheat as fuel. Guess what? Price for medicine will go up because medicine capsules are made from wheat. thats what I meant to express and not the byproduct of cane sugar.sorry for the confusion. - Dalmato1000
  • but how much oil do they use in refining this into biofuels...? :)) - NJTALX
  • there is no such thing as food shortage...checkout companies that are throwing food in the sea/oceans just because transport is expensive `n stuff...instead of giving it to people in need... - NJTALX
  • WTF we have to look at renewable means of energy the farmers can use a % for energy and a % for energy. I believe that the oil billionaires don't want that so they create this food price hike propaganda. - Calvin Green
  • It is so obvious you have no clue about biofuels and you are only beating a dead horse... Why don't you READ and then come back well informed? - fluidling
  • You're not listening... all crops have byproducts, and that is what is being used to make this biofuel. For an example, corn husks are a byproduct of corn. The price of corn will not rise if we use the byproduct (not the corn) to make fuel. There is a difference between Biofuel and Ethanol. Ethanol is made from sugar, and Biofuels are made from natural fibers (corn stalks, sugar cane waste (leaves)). I understand what you are saying, but its different from what this video is about. - redschool

  • Do you know how many other byproducts have been made from Cane sugar? And the price for those other byproducts will rise. What about destroying all of the virgin amazon forests? Depletion of Oxygen in the world. ? - Dalmato1000
  • it's the waste, not the sugar - cfhworld
  • I understand what you're saying, and totally feel what you mean. Because of ethanol, meat prices have gone up. Because animals feed on corn, and farmers make more money if they sell corn that is used for ethanol. The ethanol corn produces more money for the farmer, so the quantity of corn for the animals goes down bringing the price up. I totally understand your logic. But this is completely new to me, using the byproduct. Totally reminds me of the Native Americans using all of the buffalo. - redschool
  • Renewable energy is so exciting! It's a shame the Republicans are owned by oil companies. If they would get out of the way, we could change the world. - ryan foley
  • well if cane sugar will replace the demand for oil, how much resources will grow this plant and fullfill the energy needs of the world? You have so much territory growing it - that you will probably have a doubling cost for it... cane sugar like petroluem are scarce commodities.... - Dalmato1000
  • Go Brazil!! From Japan. - DelusionalJ
  • Leaves, stalks, and organic waste are turned into fuel. It says in the description, "Made from sugar cane waste." Different from the typical ethanol that fuels your car, this is biofuel. So you're confusing two different types of fuel. On a side note I would argue that cane sugar is a lot more available than petroleum. This is because petroleum is finite, we only have a certain amount of it. While cane sugar we can grow a new "batch" every year. - redschool
  • Biofuels are a anti-human criminal activity, not a solution. Biofuels cause slow agricultural suicide through topsoil erosion, water shortages, eventual phosphate shortages, as well as increased air and water pollution and skyrocketing food prices. Please Google the YouTube video, *THE GLOBAL BIOFUEL DISASTER, Christopher Calder* For better noncarbon, nontoxic energy alternatives, such as Low Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR), Google *THE RENEWABLE DISASTER, Christopher Calder* web page. - Christopher Calder
